How It Started
It started with
a question
OtterS began with a simple question we kept coming back to as students in Montreal: why was so much meaningful work happening around us without anyone ever hearing about it? Charities, community initiatives, and local organizations were making a real difference every day, but their stories rarely reached beyond the people already involved. What they lacked wasn't passion or purpose. They lacked the media presence to share their impact.
As we looked closer, we realized there was another gap. Emerging filmmakers, photographers, and creatives were searching for meaningful opportunities to build their skills, yet most struggled to find interesting projects that challenged them or allowed them to grow. OtterS was created to bridge both needs, connecting talented students with organizations whose stories deserve to be seen.
What started as a small group of passionate creatives has grown into a collaborative collective. We believe great storytelling can amplify important work and create lasting connections. Every project is an opportunity to produce meaningful work ensuring that the stories shaping our communities reach the audiences they deserve.
